Call for Artisans
This year’s 3rd Annual Artisans Market at Bean Fest will be held on October 29 & 30, 2010 in conjunction with the annual Bean Fest and Championship Outhouse Races. The Artisans Market will be located on Peabody Street on the east side of the Stone County Courthouse. Musicians will be performing on the courthouse lawn. Bean pots will be cooking on the west side of the square to serve free beans and cornbread at noon on Saturday followed by the Outhouse Races at 2:00 PM.
The show is open without jurying to artists who are members of the Arkansas Craft Guild, the Mountain View Art Guild, the Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour, the Ozark Folk Center and the Ozark Folk Fiber Guild. Artists not members of these organizations will be accepted into the show by invitation (based on participation in previous Artisan Council shows) or by submitting an application for jurying (see section below).
The application deadline for the Artisans Market at Bean Fest is September 15th. There are a limited number of booth spaces available so get your application in quickly.

The booth fee is $40 which includes a $25.00 City of Mtn. View vendor fee. After September 15th, a late fee of $25.00 will be charged – NO EXCEPTIONS. Booths may be shared but all artists must be pre approved and complete application forms.

2010 Open Jurying:
We will accept jury applications from new artists in July. Applications must be submitted by July 19. Artists will be notified via email of jury results on July 26th.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Artists who produce quality hand made original art or craft are eligible. Entries should be of original or traditional designs and made by the artist. Absolutely no commercial products or products made from kits may be sold. Every product must have a handmade focal point or a design that is uniquely artistic and demonstrative of the artist’s creativity. (For instance, strung beads must have a handmade focal item or be used in a unique design that is artistically greater and more creative than the string of beads.)
Artists are required to submit at least four digital images of their work and one of their booth set up in jpeg format via email or on a CD. Image file names must include artist name and image number, e.g. marysmith1.jpg. marysmith2.jpg, etc. Images must be at least 1024 x 768 pixels and be NO LARGER THAN than one (1) MB in size. We do not accept photographs or slides. Artists will be notified via email of the jury results on July 26. Approved artists can then submit an application for the Artisans Market at Bean Fest 2010 (or Folk Fest 2011 when applications are posted here).
An on site jury review will be conducted at each show to select invited artists for future shows.
If you are not juried into the Artisans Market shows or invited to return, you can set up your booth and sell in Mountain View during both the Bean Fest and Folk Fest by obtaining a permit from the Planning and Zoning Dept., City of Mtn. View. Planning and Zoning can also provide information on locations where you can set up your booth. For more information call 870-269-3686.
NOTE: Artists participating in the Artisans Market at Folk Festival who are eligible for Arkansas Craft Guild membership can make arrangements in advance to have their work juried on site at the show.
